Notes: Colorado Springs Church Cluster Meeting
October 4, 2007

Mission Evaluation Process
With representation from the 6 of the 10 churches, the Cluster reviewed the mission projects funded by the Presbytery in the Colorado Springs area and developed a self-assessment form for the mission projects to complete and return to the Presbytery Office in January. There were several comments about the need for a site visit follow-up, but no assignments were made. Jeff Kintner will notify the presbytery office of the address and contact person for Northern Churches Care and Marvin Battcher for Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity. The Cluster set a date for the mission funding evaluation and recommendations for the 2009 Budget for February 7, 2008, 4:00-600 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church, 219 E. Bijou St.
Mission Covenants
The Cluster reviewed the mission covenant projects that were identified at the April 21st Cluster meeting and spent some time discussing the vision of the Blue Ribbon Task Force that churches need to find a way to develop the spiritual formation of congregations and their communities. It was also acknowledged that our presbytery is in a developmental process of learning how to be a “missional presbytery” and sessions learning how to think and plan with sister churches in mind. Two suggestions were to share newsletters and to docket time at each session meeting to consider ideas for cluster covenants. It seems that one mission project that would be the easiest to expand is Stephen Ministry. Presently, Faith and Gateway are sharing leadership training and Stephen Ministers. First Presbyterian may consider covenanting with them for a three-way sharing of training and pastoral care providers.
