Growing Healthy Pastors Groups

A Growing Healthy Church (GHC) Initiative

Gary Weaver, GHC Executive Pastor

What:

Growing Healthy Pastors Groups (GHP) provides a peer learning opportunity for sharing ministry challenges, praying, and designing effective ministry plans for each pastor's particular congregation.

Who:

Each of the four clusters have formed a GHP peer group for church pastors convened by a Lead Pastor.  Pastors, C.L.P.'s and pastors from local non-Presbyterian churches were invited to enroll.

Why:

To focus on transformational leadership learning and sharing for pastors.

How:

Lead Pastor:  A Lead Pastor in each of the four clusters was identified, trained, coached and resourced by the GHC Executive Pastor.

Pastors:  Pastors enrolled in their GHP cluster group for 2010 by committing $200 of their continuing education allowance to the presbytery's Growing Healthy Churches project.  Pastors attend monthly, 3-hour GHP group sessions and the two leadership workshops.
